Instructions:

1. Come to a seated position on the floor with your legs stretched out in front of you.

2. Bend your right leg and cross it over your left leg, the right foot flat on the floor and the knee pointed up to the ceiling.

3. Bend the left leg in, bringing the heel toward the right glute.

4. Reach your left arm toward the floor, wrapping it around the upper portion of the right leg. Bring your right arm behind you and place it on the floor, palm down.

5. Inhale and lengthen the spine, exhale and gently twist the upper body toward the top leg.

6. As you sit in the twist, continue to lengthen the spine on the inhale and twist a bit deeper on the exhale.

7. Hold for three to five breaths.

8. To come out of this pose, gently unwind from the twist and uncross the legs.

9. Repeat on the other side.

TIP: If you are not able to keep both hips on the floor in this pose, try stretching the bottom leg straight out in front of you instead of bending it.
